Let the chase begin!
Outrunning the law isn't easy, but for $80,000 you bet 'Bandit' will try it. Helping him out in his high-speed hijinks are a runaway bride, a pack of sympathetic truckers and a V-8 powered black Pontiac Firebird. When State Trooper 'Smokey' gets on his trail, hilarity ensues as cop and con race across several states. Relive all the greatest moments from "Smokey and the Bandit" with this great kit! Kit features include an opening hood, detailed V-8 engine, removable "T" top roof panels and a shaker style air intake.

• Opening hood and detailed 400 cubic inch V-8
• Removable “T” top roof panels
• “Shaker” style air cleaner
• Molded in white and clear with chrome plated parts and soft black tires

Revell RMX-4027 Smokey & The Bandit 1977 Pontiac Trans Am

SKU: 031445040276
  • I enjoyed building Revell's Smokey & The Bandit Trans Am but it's not without some issues. The engineering of the kit itself is typical Revell, meaning it's very good. The proportions are very good, it assembles very well, in that respect it's great! My issue with the kit is the decals. They aren't for anyone who lack patience. All the SE pinstipe decals can be very fiddlly and some don't like to lay down without a lot of decal solvent, The Wheel opening pinstripes don't follow the openings the best. In the end, it all came out looking good enough but if you're OCD, they will have you in a closet muttering to yourself.

The things to pay attention to when building this kit:

    - the decals can be fiddly and some don't want to lay down well without a lot of decal solvent

    - the ride height is a bit high. Redrilling the front pin holes and sanding down the leaf spring mounts front and rear gives a more realistic ride height

    - the headlight buckets may not allow the front bumper cover to seat to the body fully. I sanded down the back of the buckets and removed the cross bar that connected the two

I give it a 7 of 10, mostly because of the decals to build it as an SE Smokey and The Bandit car. I will build this kit again but as a more basic Trans Am
